  • The Teochew Chendul is the most fabulous street food that we should not missed out.
  • Cendol is called as chendul in Penang because of the slang.
  • This cendol is a dessert that is quite popular in Southeast Asia countries.
  • The cendol or “chendul” is prepared with shaved ice mixed with coconut milk and “Gula Melaka”, then adding the kidney beans and jelly noodles that is green in colour. The green jelly are springy and has the taste of pandan leaves.
  • This is the fabulous food in streets of Penang as the taste is so refreshing that we will not able to forget it.
  • We will have the intentions to revisit Teochew Chendul.
  • When we eat the cendol, we also got to feel the fabulous and authentic experience eating it while standing beside the stall.
  • The taste of the cendol is also not too sweet and when we mix it together with the kidney beans, the taste is speechless.
  • The cendol is served fresh so the shop is able to retain the taste and the quality of the cendol.
  • The cendol is definitely a must have street food in the hot weather of Penang because it helps us to cool down.
  • Everyone can taste the cendol as it is halal and suitable for all ages of people.

History⇘

  • Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul was started in 1936 by the founder, Mr. Tan.
  • Mr Tan started his business by selling simple dessert to support his family members.
  • The taste of his freshly made cendol not only loved by the locals, but slowly gained recognition from overseas fans.
  • The business is now managed by the third generation.
