Business hours: Opens everyday from 11am till 2am

  • Gani famous pasembur is located at 3, Medan Renong, Padang Kota Lama,Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah,, George Town, 10200 Georgetown, Pulau Pinang.
  • I felt satisfied eating the foods there.
  • Besides the basic ingredients which are quite similar as those found in many other pasembur stalls, Gani Pasembur also offers a fairly large selection of add-on items too.
  • I like to top my plate of pasembur with the crispy and crunchy cracker as it is really fresh.
  • The prices of the ingredients starts from RM 0.50 and goes up to as high as RM 15.00, so it is best to check out the prices before you start piling up your plate.
  • I really enjoy the taste of the food and impressed with the whole serving.
  • This is one of fabulous street food because Gani is really popular because of the uniqueness taste and that’s why people are willing to line up just to get the foods.

The signboard 😉

  • The Padang Kota Lama aka Esplanade is next to the famous Fort Cornwallis in Penang.
  • Just opposite is the sidewalk by the sea where you can enjoy both the refreshing breeze and view.
  • As with all food courts there are many stalls sharing the business and dining space.
  • In the afternoons, Hameed ‘Pata’ Mee Sotong reign supreme as almost 90% of the people in the food court are his customers.
  • While the stall is acceptably clean the rest of the food court is a bit decrepit but that obviously doesn’t affect his business at all.
  • The cook doesn’t prepare each order individually but dishes out the noodles quicker by cooking in big batches.
  • Your option here is either the wet mee rebus that comes with gravy or the dry mee goreng.
  • The noodles are beautifully coated with the gravy and cuttlefish; a tad heavy, salty, sweet and spicy.
  • Almost everyone chows down on it fast. There are two versions of the mee, a mee rebus that comes with gravy or the dry mee goreng.
  • The crowd mostly orders the mee goreng topped with a saucy sambal sotong, with soft and chewy (dried) squids cooked in a sweetly spicy sauce.
  • A small plate is RM5 while a bigger portion is RM7.
  • It’s totally worth the wait because Hameed Pata Mee Sotong is one of the faboulous street food in Penang.

                                   Saturday to Sunday is 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.

  • The Teochew Chendul is the most fabulous street food that we should not missed out.
  • Cendol is called as chendul in Penang because of the slang.
  • This cendol is a dessert that is quite popular in Southeast Asia countries.
  • The cendol or “chendul” is prepared with shaved ice mixed with coconut milk and “Gula Melaka”, then adding the kidney beans and jelly noodles that is green in colour. The green jelly are springy and has the taste of pandan leaves.
  • This is the fabulous food in streets of Penang as the taste is so refreshing that we will not able to forget it.
  • We will have the intentions to revisit Teochew Chendul.
  • When we eat the cendol, we also got to feel the fabulous and authentic experience eating it while standing beside the stall.
  • The taste of the cendol is also not too sweet and when we mix it together with the kidney beans, the taste is speechless.
  • The cendol is served fresh so the shop is able to retain the taste and the quality of the cendol.
  • The cendol is definitely a must have street food in the hot weather of Penang because it helps us to cool down.
  • Everyone can taste the cendol as it is halal and suitable for all ages of people.

History⇘

  • Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul was started in 1936 by the founder, Mr. Tan.
  • Mr Tan started his business by selling simple dessert to support his family members.
  • The taste of his freshly made cendol not only loved by the locals, but slowly gained recognition from overseas fans.
  • The business is now managed by the third generation.
